Spanish press reports revealed that Barcelona does not intend to register the Uruguayan star Ronald Araujo in the team’s roster next season.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Araujo’s long injury made Barcelona decide not to register him in the team’s roster because Barca is facing problems with financial fair play, which is why it decided not to register him until next January when the transfer market reopens again.
The Spanish newspaper explained that this means that Hans Flick, the coach of Barcelona, will not be able to rely on Ronald Araujo until next January, which makes him look at Jules Kounde as a defender and not a right-back, in addition to Pau Coparsi, who will return from the Paris Olympics, Andreas Christensen, and the return of Eric Garcia from Girona.
The Spanish newspaper indicated that the Spanish defender Inigo Martinez has not yet been registered in the roster, as is the case for the Brazilian Vitor Roque, but with Araujo’s withdrawal, Martinez will be returned to the roster.
It is noteworthy that Araujo was injured in the Brazil-Uruguay match in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Copa America and it was confirmed that he will be absent from matches for 4 months.
The Spanish League will start on August 15 and Barcelona’s first match will be against Valencia at Mestalla Stadium on Saturday, August 17.
