Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid goalkeeper, made a frank confession after his team defeated Celtic 3-0, outside the rules, on Tuesday evening, in the first round of the group stage of the Champions League
Courtois admitted that the first half of the match was difficult because of Celtic’s strong start in his field, stressing that his team did not enter the match as required, but over time he got the victory, which he described as deserved
Courtois: We have substitutes to replace Benzema
The Real Madrid goalkeeper said in a press statement after the match, “The first half was difficult for us, Celtic was strong in its stadium, and we did not enjoy a good start, but as we entered the atmosphere of the match, the performance improved and we achieved victory, and of course it is a deserved victory”
Courtois added, “On the physical front, we are fine, and with the substitutions made by the coach, we have become better, and Hazard is a really great player. Today was important for us, and as soon as he entered the match he proved his quality”
