Barcelona takes a decision against Braithwaite as a gesture to leave

Two and a half years after his signing, Barcelona are considering ending the striker’s contract to make way for potential last-minute market moves. The Dane agrees to leave only if he gets the remaining two years of his contract.

Barcelona went to the market in February 2020 due to serious injuries to Suarez and Dembele. Although he wasn’t Setién’s first choice, Braithwaite arrived at Camp Nou with a disgusting attacking slot for Barcelona’s front. The club was told it was a roundabout deal, as the Dane had an offer from the Premier League for 18 million

Nothing is further from reality. Barely after two and a half years, the club is considering ending his contract due to the player’s refusal to leave the Camp Nou. The club, in need of chips and salary bills, to face the recent market operations, withdrew the player’s number, in a new gesture to show him the exit door.

Which is that the performance of the Dane in these thirty months was, at least, questionable. The Barcelona striker scored ten goals and five assists in 58 matches, even below his figures in Leganes (thirteen goals and eight assists in 48 matches). These numbers, in addition to the injuries he suffered during the 6 months with the Blaugrana, reduced the player’s value to six million euros, according to Transfermarkt.

Although it is true that his estimate never reached the 18 ‘kilograms’ that he paid (their market value was twelve million), the truth is that these proposals from the English market never arrived, and although they are more recently Weeks after Celta and Valencia were asked about his situation, the footballer made it clear that he would not agree to leave until his contract was paid in full, i.e. €5 million net for the remaining two campaigns.Without knowing the end of the matter, the Braithwaite case is taking on difficulties as it is a new management fiasco.
