Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann has mocked Barcelona after confirming Robert Lewandowski’s transfer to the cash-strapped Catalan giant
Barcelona’s contract with Lewandowski, 33, was confirmed on Tuesday evening, after weeks of speculation about the player’s future
And there have been doubts for some time about Barcelona’s ability to secure a deal for the Polish striker, with the club reportedly owed more than £1 billion
However, Barcelona managed to get its way, and as a result Nagelsmann wondered how the club was able to exist in the market despite its current financial plight
“It’s the only club in the world that doesn’t have money, but then buys all the players they want, I don’t know how they do it. It’s a little weird, a little crazy,” Nagelsmann was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying
Barcelona’s financial plight reached this point earlier this summer, with the club unable to sign Frank Kessie and Andreas Christensen, two players brought on free transfers from AC Milan and Chelsea respectively
