Dani Carvajal, Real Madrid’s back, said about his coach, Carlo Ancelotti, and revealed the Italian coach’s conversation with the Royal Club players after the El Clasico defeat against Barcelona.
Real Madrid lost to Barcelona 4-0 in the La Liga competition last March.
Despite this loss, Real Madrid was later crowned the League champion, as well as the European Champions League for the fourteenth time in its history.
And Carvajal gave an interview to the Spanish newspaper “AS”, and about his coach Ancelotti, he said: “In terms of the team, he is a leader and a point of reference for everyone. Whenever he speaks, everyone turns to all five senses to listen and understand him.”
He added: “He has been able to harmonize with those who play more, and those who play less, try to understand everyone, he was a player and he understands that not playing is not an ideal situation.”
“He’s a great coach, he knows how to prepare for matches, but what really stands out is the way he treats his players.”
Carvajal was asked what Ancelotti had said after losing El Clasico, which was an important moment of the season, and how he made sure the team did not lose confidence.
And the Spanish full-back replied: “Barcelona was better than us in that match, they knew how to take advantage of our weaknesses, it is always difficult to lose at home to your archenemy with a result like this.”
And he added: “The international break was very good for us, but the captain told us to calm down, it’s only about three points, if you go to Celta and lose three points too, it will be the same.”
And he concluded: “Ancelotti told us, we worked hard and made a lot of effort, and I think that this message was the key to our victory against Celta Vigo and the victory of the league against Seville, when we came out from behind and then Barcelona lost at home the next day.”
