Zidane: That’s why I rejected Manchester United

Zinedine Zidane, the former coach of Real Madrid, has hinted at the reason for his refusal to work as a coach for Manchester United

Zidane said, during an interview with the French newspaper “L’Equipe”: “I do not want to work anywhere, but I want a team that seeks to win titles .. For other reasons, I will not go to work anywhere”

He continued: “The language is one of these reasons, it makes conditions difficult sometimes .. When I was asked: Do you want to come to Manchester United? I said that I understand English, but I do not speak it fluently”

He continued: “I know that there are coaches who go to clubs, without caring about the language factor, but I work differently.. For success, there are a lot of factors that play a role, it is an inclusive context.. I know what I need to achieve victories, and I want everything to be in my interest”

And whether he wants to coach the French national team, Zidane replied: “Of course I want to be a coach for the France national team, but it does not depend only on me .. I dream of completing the wonderful career that I started as a player, and now as a coach”

And he continued: “I don’t know if that will happen after the current coach (Deschamps) or not… Of course they have goals and plans (in the French Federation), but leading the French national team is a great ambition in my mind”

And whether there are other ambitions he seeks to achieve, Zidane replied: “I want to be the manager of a project that I plan myself, such as the president of a club or a company. I have already started a project, establishing a company with my brothers.. I am looking for a bigger project with people I love and who are trusted” .
