The Brazilian central defender Eder Militao ends the season with blunt errors that made Real Madrid more vulnerable in defence. His bad mistakes have raised many doubts about his participation, two weeks later, in the European final Champions League against Liverpool.
The Brazilian league is making big mistakes in recent matches. The team can’t rely on Militao alone on cutting the ball in and out without the support of Austrian David Alaba, who has missed his last five matches due to a hamstring injury in his right leg.
His lapses were a surprise for everyone, as Militao finished off an impressive season and made Real Madrid’s biggest wins. The Brazilian played much more than expected and did well until about a month ago.
His decline in recent matches was clear. Militao has played 52 games this season, 48 of them with Real Madrid and five other games with the Brazilian national team.
The coach Carlo Ancelotti has given him a few breaks (four games plus two more through suspension) throughout the season, and they seem to have not suited him well.
