The Manchester United club management has set the selling price of the player Anthony Martial in the current summer transfer season, in anticipation of the possibility of dispensing with his services
Manchester United paid £36m to sign Martial from Monaco in 2015
The Frenchman was expected to lead United’s attacking line into a new era, but six years after that signing with his career on hold, Old Trafford officials are left confused about how best to recoup some of their expenses
Martial spent the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla, with the option to buy permanently
But after scoring just one goal in 12 matches, the possibility of a long-term move was not at all likely, so that page was turned
Martial, who still has two years left on his £240,000-a-week contract, is now back at United and gearing up for the pre-season preparations
And according to the English newspaper “Mirror”, Manchester United is seeking to get rid of Anthony Martial’s services in the summer transfer period this year
She explained that Manchester United officials set the selling price of Martial at only 20 million pounds
She indicated that, despite the low financial fees, Manchester United does not expect clubs to flock to Martial, given the value of his weekly salary, which poses a problem for any team that might consider securing his services
